One advantage of custom post type is that you can add any meta fields using ACF Plugin .

Usually, all kinds of posts have their own meta information.

For example, product title, rating, price, categories and tags are belonged to product meta information.

Generally speaking, you have to add meta information when make post type such as product, post and etc.
